ACBL Unit 500 Web Site, Home Page

On Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Ashland Park Community Center in San Leandro, Bill Hodges will become the official director of the Unit 500 duplicate game there. Bill is calling it, "The Bridge Club". The game at Ashland has been in operation at least since the early 1990s when Bill Slife was directing, then Chuck Seuser, Chuck Wong and now Bill Hodges. The Tutoriale Bridge Club, a new weekly game started Wed. July 1, 2009 in Castro Valley. Charlie Conrad started the Tutoriale Bridge Club at the site of his tutoring business, "Tutoriale". It will be an Intermediate/Novice game, limited to players with less than 300 master points. See Charlie's web site and a flyer describing the new game.

Our South County Sectional is coming up August 7-9, 2009. Please note that it will be held in Castro Valley this year, at the Transfiguration Church Hall, 4000 E. Castro Valley Blvd., Castro Valley

All duplicate clubs in our unit have web sites. Please review as necessary to schedule your next duplicate game.

Unit 500 of the ACBL (the American Contract Bridge League) is in District 21 (Northern California, U.S.A) which is part of the Western Conference (Districts 17, 21 and 22). The Southern Alameda County bridge scene has club games, a South County Sectional in August, local Unit tournaments and special events. There are many nearby Sectional and Regional tournaments that you can locate by going to District 21's web site or the ACBL web site. There are weekly duplicate tournaments for players of all abilities from expert to novice, and bridge lessons for newcomers.
